Urbana is one of ten high schools in the Frederick County Public Schools system of Frederick County, Maryland. Urbana's school year is divided into two ninety-day semesters, each split into two grading periods. Urbana operates on a block schedule with four ninety-minute blocks each day. Students may earn up to four credits per semester, totaling eight by the end of the year. It is therefore possible to complete, for example, both French 3 and 4 or Calculus AB and BC within the same school year. It is also possible to take additional courses online through the Frederick County Virtual School during the regular school year or summer.
